Being at a job you hate day in - day out is not suitable for your psyche, no matter how badly you need the money. Research has shown that over 70% of American hates their job. That’s 3 out of 10 people who love what they are doing. Those numbers are slim. Can you believe they would still feel the same way even if given a raise? What does that tell you? For me, that says a lot. Money does not dictate my well-being.

The #1 reason people hate their job is…lack of recognition for what they do. The 2013 State of the American Workplace report estimates that unhappy workers cost the country more than $500 billion annually. The survey was taken by 150,000 people nationwide.
Which percentage are you among, 70% or 30%? You must start searching for something else if you are among the 70% here. Being somewhere you hate for an extended period affects you mentally, financially, spiritually, and physically.
Did you know that standing in a place too long that you hate increases varicose veins? See You Can Heal Your Life by Louise Hayes (Rest In Peace). It would be best to find another way out of being somewhere you don’t want to be. This should not cost you your health or mental state. Here are five areas where you are most affected by being somewhere you hate.
PROFESSIONALLY YOU ARE NOT PRODUCING AT YOUR FULL POTENTIAL
Are you at work just doing what you can to get by or doing enough to pass the time to clock out? If yes, you got the disease, “Time to get out.”
DRAINS YOUR ENERGY
Do you get at least 8 hours of sleep but wake up tired, moving slowly, and can’t get it together? You got the disease “Time to get out.”
BRINGS NEGATIVE THOUGHTS AND ACTION
Are you constantly having negative thoughts about your jobs and conversation you hear, and someone else is griping about their job? You are ready to chime in… you got the disease, “Time to get out.”
UNNECESSARY HEALTH ISSUES
Are you wishing you were sick, hoping for a storm to shut down the company from Sunday night, stomach burning, heart heavy, and feeling like an anxiety attack is coming on? You got the disease, “Time to get out.”
STOPS CREATIVE JUICES FROM FLOWING
You have many unique ideas, but for some reason, none of them comes to mind when you need them to…you can’t think of anything exciting to talk about or even say… Then, you got the disease, “Time to get out.”
It is time to come up with your escape route. You only have one life to live, so you must enjoy it while you can. So dig deep inside of you and figure out what you would enjoy doing…research how this can generate money for you. Once you figure this out, begin to put your plan into motion while working on the job you hate….By doing this, you will see things start to change. You will be inspired and motivated to fulfill your dreams.
I want you to know that discovering what you love to do will be easy, but everything that comes after will not. You will struggle and get discouraged because how you envisioned it would not be how it would go. You cannot quit. Instead, please listen to positive speakers and quotes and do affirmations daily. Write and repeat your goals when you wake up in the morning and before you go to bed.
By doing this, your brain will begin to produce more energy, you will feel more energized, creative juices will start to flow, and you will begin to feel more alive than you ever have…I know because this happened to me…
It can happen to you too. No matter how old or long you have been doing a specific job, you can choose the best career. Please note that I am not telling you to quit your job tomorrow. However, it would help if you had a plan before you leave the job you hate.
Until Next time...
